(152,069 posts)Ziggysmom says they're Billy Buttons. I hadn't heard the name before today.
I've been fascinated by them since the first time I saw them.

(92,665 posts)I really like the calla lilies. That's the shot of this bunch. I like them all but that one is really eye catching.

(152,069 posts)I greatly appreciate your good thoughts.
I wasn't sure what they are, but I knew I had to photograph them. So glad I did.

(92,665 posts)Those are a beautiful lily I had never met until I went to California in my teens. My mom had white ones in the back yard. I didn't know they came in colors until a few years ago, though. Maybe that's a new thing.
But they are Calla lilies, don't know much else about them as I have never tried to grow them.
But they look so cool.

(3,569 posts)Real name is Craspedia globosa, but I prefer Billy Buttons, Drumsticks or Sun Balls. They are a great flower for drying/preserving. You definitely have an eye for the unique things around you!

And also, thank you for identifying the yellow Billy Buttons. I had no idea what they were.
Looking around for the unique or unusual things that people my world is a big part of who I am.
