Related: About this forum*****Theme and timeline for the July Contest*****
The theme is DONT BE AFRAID OF THE DARK Shadow photographyMousetoescamper won the May contest and the prize was that he could choose the theme for the July contest since June was reserved for the Spring seasonal competition.
When he learned I am troubled with poor vision due to Macular Degeneration, he offered to change the title to simply Shadow photography. This sensitivity touches me.
Here is the link I was given
and the words accompanying the link: "Photos will feature shadows used intentionally and creatively. Archived photos may be used. Shadow photography ideas, tips and examples may be found at https://www.adorama.com/alc/shadow-photography-ideas-tips-and-examples/"
Examining the link made me realize that it provides lots of information and stimulation.
I think we will have fun with this theme!

I will start the submissions on the day after the holiday so that maybe you can take some photographs on the fourth of July in the shadows that a hopefully sunny day and leisure to pursue them can provide.
I will let the submissions run for a full 2 weeks so that we can fill the contest with 30 submissions.
Should that not happen, watch for me announcing second submission possibilities.
So watch for the Submissions opening up next Wednesday on the fifth of July, and we will take it from there.
Join me in thanking Mousetoescamper for a great theme.
