(14,559 posts)In the wild you wait, you may wave or distract and take a ton of pictures trying to capture the one that makes contact with the viewer.
In the studio I poke and prod and cajole and so often recapture the critter off the wall trying for the same thing.
Put 'im on the log, catch 'im off the lightstand, put 'im on the log, turn his head, pull him off the ceiling and so on and so on.
And then it happens! That catchlight in the eye, that human like expression that makes contact and it's magic.
God help me, I love working with the frustrating little beggars.
