Some old peoples faces have character and hide stories. Mine doesn't. But my father --- 3Hotdogs Aug 2023 #7

He was 5' 5" but his face --- he looked like John Wayne.

The topography of his face shows years of working hard and years of smiles and laughter.

I made him screen-sized and just gazed into his eyes awhile. The longer I looked, the more he seemed to become the face of a grand old tree-trunk, carved and gnarled and ruggedly magnificent. Blink, and he’s back at the pond, listening to his wife’s suggestions of where to place the plants.

Thank you for sharing your father’s evocative and heartwarming portrait, Tom Yossarian Joad.
