I visited Longwood Gardens yesterday and took more than 200 shots using my new (used) 50mm lens. I'll post some more photos from yesterday's outing over the coming days.
Longwood Gardens is a botanical garden that consists of over 1,077 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, in the Brandywine Creek Valley. It is one of the premier horticultural display gardens in the United States and is open to visitors year-round to enjoy native and exotic plants and horticulture (both indoor and outdoor), events and performances, seasonal and themed attractions, as well as educational lectures, courses, and workshops. -from Wikipedia

(5,138 posts)Maybe we can meet at Longwood some time. My SO and I are members and visit there several times a year. I live about an hour's drive west of Kennett Square.

(5,138 posts)Haven't yet been to Winterthur. Have you been to Ladew Gardens in Maryland? It's similar to Longwood--fountains, flower gardens, topiary gardens--but on a 20-acre estate.

(17,602 posts)I'll have to content myself with the local lavender and sunflower fields in June, plus getting over to England occasionally.
No desire to return to the US, despite the many things to see and do.
I was born in Wilmington, and we used to visit Longwood, Winterthur, and Hagley. When I lived in Philadelphia, there was the flower show, Morris Arboretum, and Bartram's Gardens plus Fairmount Park.
