Butterflies, bees and a stung-ing wasp

I visited Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, last Friday and took more than 200 shots using my new (used) 50mm lens. This is my fourth post of pix from Friday's outing. One more set of photos to come.

Blue-winged wasp

Silver-spotted skipper

Eastern tiger swallowtail

Bumblebees

to good use.

Sorry, couldn't resist . .

As fewer low end (inexpensive) products are added to systems the used market is becoming the go-to for bargain equipment.

What camera body are you using? I ask only because the sensor determines the effective lens length.

Forgot to say what great results you got with it!

from my daughter. She's an amateur photographer and has some new higher-end Canon gear. She also gave me her used 14mm Samsung, which I've been using for astrophotography. I replaced the 18-55mm kit lens with a used Canon 15-85mm.

parlance. That focal length is an excellent choice for portraiture and brings your insects about 50% closer than it appears to the naked eye. I have no reference for a fully clothed eye

Seriously good photos regardless of the techno-babble.
