(2,259 posts)While it isnt likely, K.C. may be out there. We had Figment disappear for a month. There were moving and delivery trucks swarming our neighbors house, and we were pretty sure she napped in the wrong truck. We went so far as to get the other truck routes and went searching at other stops where she might have jumped out, but nothing.
We had pretty much given up, just about the time she walked home, down about 1/3 her weight, scared and relieved that she finally found the right house.

(35,661 posts)I was certain he had been taken by a coyote. I cried more over that cat than any animal I had lost. And he was a feral. Apparently hed been trapped in some storage space or something probably not too far from where I was looking for him. He was skinny and dehydrated but he bounced back and lived another eight or 10 years, at least, hes still with me, at least as of last night. I really feel for you, its terrible, and I dread every evening that Tiger wont come to my back door.

(24,145 posts)I've had barn cats disappear for a month, and then show up for breakfast.
I'm afraid I have to give up on my little Rio though. One of my favorites, and she's been gone three months now. She's one that has been gone for weeks at a time previously, but would stroll in at some point. Her mom is still here. I brought both with me from Calif. Breaks my heart, but we've lost a few others to mystery too. I would so love to see Rio's bouncy little trot coming toward me, with her black tail crooked up over her back.
Its harder not knowing what became of them, not being able to say goodbye. But I would not give up on KC yet, by any means, George.

(9,167 posts)That would be a wondrous thing.
One day my oldest was outside (extremely prohibited) playing with the double yellow head. It got startled and flew away from her.
My guess was Bobby did not fly hardly at all and would be close by exhausted. Six houses away and two frantic hours I heard bobby say, "Step up to Daddy!" I held my two fingers out as when I handled him until I could find him. He latched onto me for dear life and though that was painful and bloody for me, I got him safely home.
I think your cat will come back.

(19,697 posts)Most of us have stories about our furry kids missing for a few days and its hard thinking about all the what ifs until they show up again. Like the others, Im hoping KC finds his way home and all will be back to the way it was. 😸

(32,060 posts)to show up soon. Our Mouse, and his brother, Simba, were both indoor/ outdoor cats. But it was Mouse who would disappear once in awhile, sometimes only for a day or two, but a couple of times it was longer. I feared the worst when one time he hadn't come home for well over a week. Then one morning, there he was!
