turns out I have relatives from Ireland. From what is now North Ireland.
NI might be on the list to visit.

The food is great and the people are very nice. Lots and lots of history also if you are into that, which I am. My friends cousin is a retired nurse in Sligo and when we went to visit she took it on her self to be our tour guide. Things only the locals know about. It was wonderful.
Everywhere you turn there are neat compositions to photograph...
It is an emotional land full of energy.

Afriend who spent 2 years when her husband got a bank job transfer told us we should go there.
One night we ran into a bar with an open mike night. The players were all very good.

on the weekend. We worked our way down to Northport (where my friend was born) and on to Westport. Both are quaint, photogenic towns and of course we had to go to Matt Molloys pub. Matt Molloy was a flute player in the Irish band, the Chieftains. A typical pub with friendly characters and a good Guinness.
While talking to some folks on a corner bench they mentioned that they were starting to play in a few minutes and we were sitting where they play!! They were wonderful.
Good times and the Wild Atlantic Way is a great way to see the west of Ireland. A path that winds from the south to the north. Lots to see and do, especially Mayo, the west of Galway and Connemara. A photographers dream, at least for me.

He played with the Bothy Band several years before he took up with the Chieftains. That's him in the snapshot standing behind Triona Ni Dhomhnaill...when he still had much of his hair.

His Westport pub is well known for traditional music.
