Related: About this forumA significant organ
On a train ride from Vienna we talked to the head priest of a big church in Munich. I asked if they had organ concerts.
His reply was that they didn't have a significant organ....
This is St. Margaret's which has concerts both by visiting organists and the Church organist Christian Bischof, pictured.
Since 2017 when these were taken they have completely rebuilt the organ and added to it.

It is hard not to giggle about it. There are 5 in Munich that we have heard. They bhave concert series and organists play around.

(4,657 posts)I'm interested in how these things work. Most are all electric solenoid driven and the pumps for the air are mechanical now.
We got lucky when we took my wife's brother to the place and just happened theorganist had a tour for the listeners.

(92,735 posts)I have had the honor of performing with a couple pipe organs here, in the northwest. There aren't many. I don't play them, I was performing also while someone was playing one.

One reason I like these is that it is immersive and over rides my cochlear implants limitations.
