Tonight's sunset must have been magnificent at the vista I frequent to get shots of the Susquehanna River. That site is a few miles NW of my home. On my back deck in the city, there's no horizon and the rooftops are my mountains.
Just for fun, try to find the bird in flight.

NO SUCH luck, here in southern MD.

(5,138 posts)Congratulations on finding the bird! Now if anyone can identify the species...
...please let me know. All I've got is a vague notion.
Your front yard is a scenic vista, come rain or shine!

(152,070 posts)The composition is super and of course the sky is phenomenal.
I did find the bird, but I have no idea what kind it is!
Was it in only one photo, or both?
Thanks for sharing!

(5,138 posts)I always magnify my best exposures and pore over them to find hidden details and subtleties. There were birds in some of the other shots I took tonight, and a jet, which is well defined in this shot.

(18,645 posts)I hope you can cut me that much slack. I'm doing this on a small screen (tablet), and when I zoom in enough to see details, I have to do a lot of scrolling up & down and back & forth, and it takes a long time to closely examine everything.
EDIT: Never mind! I just found it. I guess I didn't zoom in enough the first time.
Now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it! It's funny how the mind works.
Beautiful shots. I especially love the texture of the clouds.

(5,138 posts)I'm mostly viewing everything on an 11-inch screen and forget that my photos might be viewed on tablets and cellphones.
