invasion of monkeys at the bird blind!

i got my first photos at my two new bird blinds over the last few days. the yellow headed caracara was in a nearby tree and i got these snapshots from the lower blind (the planned monkey blind) and the two shots of the squirrel monkey are from the upper blind (planned for toucans, aracaris, currasows and other birds).

the biggest challenge is sunlight....clear sunny days with the sun overhead is no bueno. the caracaras were in heavy shade so the images are high ISO and noisy.

the monkeys were all over the perches at both blinds the last couple days, but the couple times i walked down there with a camera, they were hanging out in the shade of the nearby trees. the monkey i did photograph was alone on the perch....when there are a bunch of them on the perch, only a couple can access the bananas, so there are plenty of opportunities to get them not shoving food in their mouths.

Who he heck would 'ave thought . . .

Great stuff even if they do mess with the plan!

The sunlight can be mitigated if not eliminated. I took the liberty of running it through Topaz for noise and PSP for a quick mask and exposure change on the background. A little heavy handed on the exposure perhaps. Total time maybe 3 minutes. I won't save anything to disk as this is just an exercise.

I downsized my post to 1024 if anyone wants to compare it to the original.

so, this actually could be a helpful exercise for everyone interested, andy. if i email you the PSD of the noisiest bird image of the two and you run it thru the de-noise magic, then you can covert both to high res JPGs and upload them so we can compare before and after at the highest image quality (i am not worried about these particular images....they were test snaps....if we want to use them to show how we can straighten out noisy images then they would have actual value).

what do you think?

Digital photographers have so many tools that film can't offer. I can't see EXIF data so advise me on ISO.

One caveat: I do not own Topaz stock and have no interest in sales of that product. There are other post processing noise reduction packages available. I own and use Topaz so it is the only product I have to demonstrate. I do not benefit from or intend to promote the sale of Topaz products. THIS IS NOT COMMERCIAL SPAM.

I noticed that the 'retouched' image looked like it used on-camera flash so I spent another 2-3 minutes trying to camoflage that.
