(34,622 posts)Youre looking exceptionally lovely today! Green is definitely your color!
CaliforniaPeggy
(152,083 posts)Greens and blues are definitely my colors. I have so many shirts in these colors! You can't really see in this photo, but my earrings coordinate too.
I always have fun getting dressed!
Diamond_Dog
(34,622 posts)I also like greens and blues on myself. Are those jade earrings?
CaliforniaPeggy
(152,083 posts)I'm not familiar with that stone, but I like the color and the way they're set. And I think they go well with my knit shirt.
Diamond_Dog
(34,622 posts)And the perfect compliment to your green shirt. Im not familiar with the stone, either,so you taught me something new! With your eye for color its no wonder you chose those particular earrings.
When Mr. Diamond and I went on our honeymoon, we drove across the country (only time Ive ever been to California!). We took our time and stopped wherever something struck our fancy.
On the way out, we stopped in Rawlins, Wyoming, where there was a nice little park in the center of town that was the perfect place for us to stop and have some sandwiches for lunch out of our cooler. On the way back to our car, we passed a jewelry store that had the prettiest green earrings in the window - the sign said they were made from Wyoming jade. I just fell in love with them. Well my wonderful hubby bought them for me and I wear them still. It was quite a splurge for us because we didnt have much money back then. 🙂
Your green earrings brought back a wonderful memory for me, Peggy.

(340 posts)This photo shows me with Señor Osito, who accompanied me on all my missions outside the wire. He reminded me that not only could I not bear arms, I couldnt arm bears.
Thanks, CP!
CaliforniaPeggy
(152,083 posts)I see a crucifix on your clothing; were you a chaplain or some such? That would explain not being able to bear arms.
Thank you for participating today! It's a great photo of you.

(340 posts)I joined the military in my 50s, with no prior service, at a time when I was the Undergraduate Research Coordinator and Director of the Honors Program in Biological Sciences at Stanford. Some of my colleagues were annoyed that I was professionally religious (Id been ordained a priest before I began a PhD in that department in the 90s) and yet they couldnt gainsay my credentials because Id earned them in that department!

(340 posts)Oh, and while I was in Iraq in the middle of a war zone without a weapon, the bio department got rid of my position, so I left Iraq as just one more jobless vet. And while were talking ironies: I got my PhD in the lab of Robert Sapolsky, whos lately been in the news for publishing his latest book, Determined: A Science of Life Without Free Will.
