The people (of the Photography forum) have spoken!
Well, we had a poll last week concerning the size restrictions for the monthly photography contests, and the people have spoken. The vote was forty in favor of eliminating the size restrictions, and zero in favor of keeping them.

Therefore, going forward, entrants will not have to restrict their entries with regards to dimensions or file sizes. Hopefully, more DU members will consider entering since they won't have to deal with this. Also, this should make things quite a bit easier for the members running the contest. It's possible that it may take longer for the page to load, but the payoff should be better quality images.
On a personal note, I do have one suggestion. Even though it won't be required to resize an image, it's still not a bad idea in some cases. For instance, I have noticed that some of my own vertical photos prove a little too tall, and people have to scroll up and down to see entire image. Also, very wide images don't always have the impact that I would like them to. You can adjust the dimensions of a photograph without reducing the resolution. You can still produce a clear, sharp image and just cut dimensions slightly to better fit the web browser.
Just my humble opinion.
Anyway, let's have at it, and see how it works out. We can always revisit the issue if it turns out to be problematic. For now, the people have spoken!
Good luck!
