It's a lovely photo, but I don't see any train tracks.

... if the post refers to an old railroad track bed, with rails long since gone. 'Cuz I ain't seein' nuthin' either.

The freight train came through twice a day, whistle crossing bout a
quarter mile north....

If you follow the near field (left of center) you'll see a darker line of green
which is actually the raised railroad bed...at the top of that rise, to the left
of the tree standing by itself you can see dark strips which are the rails
themselves...I was trying to make the point of how technology and Nature
don't necessarily have to be at odds with each other...

but subtle. I saw that faint line, but thought, naah. Trackbeds in my rural neighborhood are more conspicuous.

I do see what you mean!! So sorry I missed it. It’s just that the railroad tracks in my area are “really out there” and don’t fit in with the beautiful scenery.

6. you can just barely see them m but they are there. some roadbeds look abandoned but are in such bad shape its pathetic.

Just to the left of the tracks you can see, is an 8ft high stack
of new railroad ties...

12. Y'know, all the time we lived there

I never took a picture of the train...
Viewing it was actually quite jarring,
as it appears to be sitting in the middle of the field.
Sort of like the freighter sitting in the desert in
"Close Encounters"...

*A reminder that the too early worm, is the one that's caught by the bird!
