(63 posts)2. Buzzard Day
Where I grew up in Hinckley, Ohio, March 15th is Buzzard Day. Supposedly, they go to Texas in the winter and return on March 15th to Hinckley. There is a whole gigantic festival on the weekend after March 15th. There is quite a contingent of folks who go to the Metropark in Hinckley to watch for the first buzzard to appear. The buzzard is also the logo for the town. Everybody comes out for the pancake breakfast and a walk through the various vendor booths. Since I've known this all my life, it seemed normal to me. I live in Wyoming now and hope to get back sometime.
