Which was a good thing because more often than not there was a snow or ice storm barrelling down on us. They are tough, brave little critters.

They have amazing colors.
A small comment, if I may: Your last photo was the best one. Why? Because you nearly filled the frame with the flower. The closer you are, the greater the impact! This bit of info was given to me by my dear friend AndyS, who knew a lot about effective photo-taking.
