Related: About this forumRed admiral butterfly
There was a red admiral on the lilac bush yesterday, but it flitted about and didnt light on a flower long enough to get a shot. I sat by the lilac this afternoon and waited. After a half hour or so, a red admiral arrived and I got this shot.

(15,690 posts)We were in Australia many years ago and my husband was off taking pictures while I relaxed by the pool in a bright colored swim suit. A Ulysses butterfly landed on my hip and rested there for a while before flying away.
Alas, no picture.

I've found that people tend not to value what they don't pay for, whether the payment's in $$$ or in patience, self discipline and sacrifice.
