(7,371 posts)Excellent as all your photos are.
There are jacarandas in our neighborhood starting to bloom. Seems late but it's been a cold winter for us!

(153,130 posts)I'd gone outside to see the sky as the sun set, and the flowers seemed to say "Photograph us!" So I did!
The trees in my neighborhood are also starting to bloom and I think they are a bit late. Not sure why--maybe the weather.

(16,953 posts)I could not believe how beautiful these tress were...and are. A real southern Cal treasure. Thanks for posting...

(153,130 posts)I've always been enchanted by these trees, so when I had the opportunity to have one planted in my garden, I leapt at it.
I especially appreciate being able to walk outside from my second story study, and see the flowers right in front of me! That's how I got this photo.

(36,212 posts)We have nothing like them in Ohio. They are so stunning! The purple color is just beautiful.
CaliforniaPeggy
(153,130 posts)Yeah, regrettably, Ohio is just too far north and too cold for these trees.
I'm glad you enjoy my photos. I can't get over the color either, and I see it every day!

(95,911 posts)I love their color and their frilly-ness.
CaliforniaPeggy
(153,130 posts)The color and the frilly-ness really draw me in. (Is that a word?)
Thanks so much!

(95,911 posts)It IS a word, I didn't spell it correctly but it's really a word...

(153,130 posts)The lens I used tonight is what Andy used to call "my walking-around lens."
It's 12-45mm and perfect for almost anything at a moderate distance that I want to capture.
Plus, the camera has the 2X extender which can bring the photo in much more closely! It's a great feature.
So when I saw what I was about to photograph, I felt joy! I'd wanted to capture a detail and I had.
Thank you again for your astute and generous comments. You saw what I saw. That means a lot.
