(18,951 posts)I tried twice to have one, knowing the odds were against me as I live in a desert. I tried because there are a couple mature ones around town.
Beautiful shots.

(153,042 posts)They are so beautiful but they are also picky about the climate they grow in. I'm sorry you didn't have any luck with them.

(4,062 posts)Lovely photographs. That is an ebullient flowering tree. How long does it flower in a season? Thanks for posting, now I know what a Jacaranda looks like.

(153,042 posts)They flower for a few months--3 or 4 maybe. Ours was late blooming this year; not sure why.
It gives me joy!
I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.

I love the bokeh in the first photo and the combination of sharp/soft focus in the second. The inclusion of the leaves gives context and additional color.

And what good is my happiness if I can't share it? Sharing is part of my DNA.

(5,301 posts)The tree we had was too high for that without a ladder.
Good stuff there.

(153,042 posts)I am so lucky. My study is on the second floor, and there's a balcony there too. No ladders needed, thank goodness.
I am glad you enjoyed these.
