(5,286 posts)I also like the orientation, which leaves some space for the moon to travel.

(3,213 posts)Maybe 30 power for me to come close.

(152,227 posts)If you would, tell me about your Meade ETX. Camera? or telescope?
Plus I don't know how to translate 30 power. I was using my Olympus camera Mark IV with my 100-400mm lens all the way out.
But I don't know how that matches up to yours.

(3,213 posts)It's a great scope. Here's a review that matches my experience in the important respects. I use it lots more than the 90mm scope I sold after getting the Meade. So easy to grab and not heavy. I use a good 7-25mm Zoom eyepiece so I don't have to swap them out and can just adjust the power for the best view. My realistic max is 100x

(152,227 posts)It's been many weeks since I was able to get any moon shots, so this one is extra special.
I stood outside for an hour, taking shot after shot! Even the ones I knew weren't any good since the sun hadn't set yet, I still took!
The last few were the best, since the sky was appreciably darker.
Thank you for your lovely comments.
