3. I always loved dragon flies. we don't see them as much in the city (STLMO) but I did see them

quite a bit in the Ozarks at my Mom and Dad's place, as well as my grandmother's place. You could spend all day just watching the flowers and the visitors to each flower...

6. Did anybody else grow up calling these "snake doctors?"

Their presence was supposed to indicate snakes nearby. Southern WV.

Edited to ask: Do you know why it's called a "widow skimmer?" Is it supposed to indicate widows nearby?
