(36,059 posts)(he’s 31 now) …. One day we saw clouds similar to your excellent photograph and he told me they were called “lenticular” clouds. I asked him how did he know that? He told me they were learning about weather in school. I had never heard that term before!
Those are so beautiful, the misty tops make me think of cotton candy.

(19,549 posts)I live the way those are picking up the pink of the rising sun and displaying that pink against a pale blue background.
The smaller one off to the right is my favorite, because it kinda looks like a flying saucer.

(3,429 posts)Here in El Paso lenticulars are common but I've never seen such a great picture, I think now that it is cooling down a little I should do some photography. Thanks for the amazing shot.
