Related: About this forumA Trip on the 'Grand Canyon Limited' From Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon (Featuring Santa Fe 3751) - Video
The Grand Canyon Limited was a steam-powered excursion train that operated in 2014 on a 3-day journey from Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon & was pulled by Santa Fe 4-8-4 type steam locomotive #3751.
On this trip I only took still photos & since I wanted to make a presentation on the Grand Canyon Limited, this slide presentation will have to do.
Hope you enjoy!

(1,965 posts)It was a real treat to ride in those vintage cars on a long-distance excursion - pulled by a steam locomotive, no less.
Thanks again!

(152,289 posts)I love seeing the changing landscape. From dry dusty deserts to lusher greener views, they're all gorgeous.
And those little towns! It takes some special folks to live out that far.

(1,965 posts)Thanks for the link, I heard that Amtrak is reinstating the 'Floridian' train route - hope to be able to ride it in the near future!
The Railpassengers.org advocacy group has a really good backgrounder on it as well:
