on edit: Please add a power line shot to this thread for Solly!
Looked like we might have a nice sunrise this morning while out walking Snowy, so I took my little camera along.
From our lane ...
And later in the walk after the color was gone from the sky thought these shots might be interesting in B&W. It's the same tree
from different angles.

(12,402 posts)I was trying to see if that terminal and the lines leading from it are cable TV or telephone. I'm leaning to cable as the main line is really small to be copper telephone cable. Anyway I had trouble looking at the tree as my eyes keep focusing on the terminal. Old habits are hard to break. 2 years at the end of this month and I still look at telephony networks with an eye to admire or to criticize, more of the former these days.

(94,348 posts)I developed an embolism from surgery on top of everything else and my mood has not been a positive one.
Between Mira, you and everyone else, you have all been a comfort.

(32,341 posts)Have you been back in the hospital because of the embolism? Have they figured out the cause? Hope things get better SOON!
Enough is enough!
Sending some more healing vibes your way.

(94,348 posts)actually a safer place to have one. Definitely caused by surgery. Happens from time to time to people. Lucky me.
I got emergency shots over 2 days (my husband injected me) and then put on a blood thinner for the next 3 months. I'll go back for another scan to check on my progress after I am done with my first bottle of blood thinners.
The pain, and clots do hurt like crazy, is all but gone. But they want to be safe, so 3 months treatment. Now I have to avoid hurting myself. It rains, it pours - but I'll get through this too. (hopefully)

(94,348 posts)I had a feeling it was an embolism but wanted to be wrong. I didn't waste time getting to the ER.
It was scary until the very kind ER doctor explained everything to me. He really was nice and very helpful.

This actually isn't too different from the jpeg straight from the camera. I did adjust the hue and saturation of the highlights in Lightroom. It brought out the blue sky. Also raised the shadows quite a bit to show the foreground. The pink and orange colors in the sky were already about like you see here.

(19,459 posts)And I am wishing you relief from pain, and swift recovery.
I took this a couple of years ago on a drive out to the Anza-Borrego desert, east of San Diego. I try to get out there whenever we visit my daughter.

Not very good technically, but I like the atmosphere - Dauphine Street, Now Orleans.

(22,507 posts)Near sunset I was driving to an appointment. Saw this. Thought of you. Stopped at the side of the road at the local Salvation Army place, crossed it, and made my way through about 15 homeless men who watched me and greeted me back.
Had no clue if there were power lines, and sure enough I found some as I downloaded them.
What the heck, Solly Mack. Here they are, and what counts is I took them for you.

Love, love the Wasserturm in downtown Mannheim. Favorite place to sit and relax. Bring a lunch and spend the day people watching or reading.
Mira
(22,507 posts)who lives in Mannheim? Never visited him there. So I don't know that Wasserturm there. Lucky about that you like them
