Nikki Haley is “up and coming”? She was a Governor.
The personal injury gun couple from St. Louis was “immediately agree on”. That smells like trying to fill time. Bad decision. Related - the Sandmann kid from Kentucky who got some sort of settlements from the Washington Post also seems like a Trump/Miller/ “agitate liberals” call.

Part of this is going to be simply to appease their viewers of all the nonsense they hear on a daily basis. Very little of the the Dem convention did that to my eye. Much higher standard and broader reach. The idea that they don’t need to compare to the Dem convention deals of PR setting standards lower and is nonsense ...other than that presentation is going to be very hard to match. The DNC got on that early, March, and it showed. They didn’t have a year either.

Typical Trump. One flippant decision after another derailing the whole process. From what I’ve read the producers of The Apprentice on several occasions had to start from scratch on presenting something anything that made sense of a decision Trump made in “the boardroom” firing someone out of the blue.

The networks better not give them anything other than 10-11 eastern.
Moving it up to 8:30 means they lose anyone on the west coast (Non POTUS races) who is back at work. I’d guess that means there’s a pre-game which could give them time to prep the night and cover anything from the night before. General, more Trump is not good for them.

Their big problem, aside from lack of time to prepare, is that some grand celebration of Trump right now can’t possibly be received well by a wounded nation.
