Why I loved Penny on "The Big Bang Theory"

I always thought Kaley Cuoco was the key to the success of the show. Here are some clips. I had the chance to see a live taping of the show when they did the prom (and Sheldon told Amy he loved her). Unforgettable.

I can't watch this without laughing incredibly ... one of the show's best moments.

The over whelming message was pretty people are attractive and smart people are goofy. And the Sheldon character (who was not originally intended to be the over whelming focus of the show, Leonard was) was a person somewhere on the spectrum that was used for comedic purposes. Basically they were making fun of him. However, as the show progressed, and they added more characters, they shifted to making Penny "smarter" and the "nerds" with far more dimensions to them. By the end, all the characters had multiple dimensions to them, all had flaws and strengths, and all were likeable/admirable to some extent or another.

After seeing most episodes twice, I’ve come to appreciate all the characters. They all crack me up especially Stewart.

My daughter and I love to talk about how sitcoms work. I would love to take at least a few classes. It's weird how often any changes in cast, writing room, etc can send a sitcom to the top or crash burning into oblivion. Strange how characters you love are just as important to those you think you can never miss. My favorite Seinfeld season - season 4, is my favorite because they spoof their own experience with first timing it.

Cuoco's character and her work connect the other characters and their world with the rest of the world really well. She did a great job at executing whatever what asked of her in regard to the character.

I also grew up falling asleep to hearing the intro to Taxi reruns down the hall as my parents watched it habitually. So glad Hirsch was finally fit into the BBT.
