1. All those crime shows, Dateline, 20:20, 48 hours, and others leave one a very warped sense

of safety in this country. Highly produced, they are apparently riveting tv for many, but geez. I've watched some Dateline segments on cases I can recall that occurred many years ago without resolution--either in Colorado or which got tons of national media. But, to think the show has been on since 1972 and produced nearly 3000 episodes--OMG. Step away from the true crime serials, folks. Not healthy to consume 24/7.

There is a theory that, as they used to be, they were a useful psychological tool for kids to face their fears from a safe place as they learned to negotiate their very volatile and violent world.

Maybe we love true crime for the same reason. Because it's undeniable that we DO love true crime. Discovery owns everything now.

That absolutely made me nauseous. The deaths were so disgusting and disturbing. Two women victims, two different cases.
