I've only seen the first episode and not sure what to make of it.

(23,286 posts)I also wasnt sure after watching the first episode but it gets so much better.!
A lot of interesting characters and dynamics of working in a kitchen with real chefs.
I'll give it a couple more episodes. A friend of mine who I trust also liked it. (We both enjoy cooking.)

(1,721 posts)I really like how the characters are developed. It does get better, but those first few episodes left me wondering if it was worth watching. The ending of season one was quite the surprise!

First three or four episodes Carmen and Ayo's new recipes are portrayed as being inedible. I know professional chefs and recipe developers and this does not happen in real life. Chefs taste throughout recipe development and would never over-season a dish to the point of spitting out a bite or gagging. Don't like to nitpick, especially given how excellent season one is, but the producers didn't do their homework (or sensasonalized) here.
