(8,441 posts)We never watch commercials anymore and I like it that way. We have a cable company here in Europe that allows our DVR to rewind back 7 days and we just select the channels we want to rewind too. So even if I didn't "tape" a show, it will be allowed to be seen within 7 days of broadcast through the channel guide. Most of our channels come from an UK satellite feed and they only have commercials every 15 minutes anyway. I wish the US would do that. Those segments on US television are only 7-8 minutes long and then 3-5 minutes of commercials. Too much time wasted!
Unfortunately, we also have Apple TV and they are also commercial free but they offer so few "free" views and even after subscribing, you have to pay extra for movies or series that they determine aren't free. We've had it a couple of years and we're going to cancel it when the subscription expires. We've already paid once!

(32,111 posts)We ALWAYS DVR shows to fly through the advertisements as a rule but there are exceptions.

(22,983 posts)I don't think it is unreasonable for content producers to get paid.
