moving northwest means by now it could be very near my nephew who has a place right on the San Pedro near Gammon's Gulch.

7. There have been a few warnings around Tucson. I think too many mountains around here.

The warning said they detected rotation but that didn't necessarily translate to an actual tornado.

9. yeah, it will be difficult for NexRad radar to pick up rotation on the ground

near the ground in the San Pedro.

I know exactly where that radar site is... and the valley floor is hidden from the sweep by the Whetstones.

but I grew up in Kansas, once had a tornado come right over our house... didn't touch down until about a mile east of us. They do sound just like a freight train... if you don't have a basement ( and you probably don't ) bathtub and a mattress on top of you is the best I think. Unless you have in interior room with no windows and a strong door.

I don't think it is possible to have a tornado here. maybe where it's flatter near Dragoon.
