Tim Walz to visit Phoenix on same day as Trump-Harris debate. What to know
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will take his first solo trip to Arizona next week as the Democratic nominee for vice president.
Walz will visit Arizona on Tuesday, the same day that Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will face off in their first presidential debate.
Walz will fly into Sky Harbor International Airport on Tuesday morning and join “political engagements” in Phoenix. Later in the day, he’ll deliver remarks at a political event, the Harris-Walz campaign said.
“Throughout his visit, Governor Walz will highlight how Vice President Harris is charting a New Way Forward that protects our fundamental freedoms, strengthens our democracy, and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to not just get by, but get ahead,” the Harris campaign said in a written statement. “And he will draw contrast with Donald Trump and JD Vance’s dark and dangerous Project 2025 agenda that raises costs on families and attacks our rights and freedom.”
