MARICOPA COUNTY SCHOOL GUIDANCE METRICS
This is from the Athena Foundation Scottsdale that has been tracking COVID cases in Maricopa County.
QUEEN CREEK REGION: The two zip codes that cover most of the QCUSD boundary were one of, if not the worst, regions in the County until recently. While the 85212 zip code has shown improvement, 85142 has not. It stands out as one of the few zip codes in the County that has steadily deteriorated since QCUSD and A.L.A. opened mid-August. With over 230 new cases in that zip code since August 17th, county demographic ratios suggest that at least 45 and as many as 60 of the new cases within that zip code were school age residents. The refusal of County Health to disclose school related information and the reluctance of QCUSD and A.L.A. to be candid makes it difficult for residents to assess the real risk of attending classroom based education in that zip code.
SCOTTSDALE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT: Like QCUSD, after a continuous month of deteriorating performance, the combined region has improved for most of the last 14 days.
Also like QCUSD, some zip codes stand out as continuing sources of problems. Within Northern SUSD, 85255 and 85260 remain the hot spots. Within the Southern half of SUSD, the downtown zip code 85251 has become a problem again after being relatively quiet for a couple of weeks.
CAVE CREEK UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT: This region went from very active through October 2nd to very quiet for the last four days, bringing the prior 7 day total cases down by 40% in that period.
