Board restores medical license of Arkansas doctor accused of rape
LITTLE ROCK An Arkansas doctor facing rape and sexual assault charges has had his medical license restored.
The Arkansas State Medical Board voted Thursday to allow Robert Rook of Conway to see patients as long as he is accompanied by a chaperone and he submits a log of all patient exams to the board.
Rook pleaded not guilty in July to three counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault. The Medical Board issued an emergency order of suspension in June, temporarily suspending Rook's medical license.
The three female patients who made the allegations in the criminal investigation declined to testify before the board. The board's attorney advised that submitting the criminal affidavits could amount to hearsay evidence.
