Five juveniles arrested in school bomb threats in Hot Springs

Five juveniles were arrested Wednesday on felony charges for five recent bomb threats against Hot Springs School District's middle and high schools, Hot Springs police said.

Two 16-year-old males and three females, two 13-year-olds and one 14-year-old, were arrested for calling in five bomb threats to the schools, one each on Oct. 13 and Oct. 14 and then three times on Monday. The males were each charged with two counts of communicating a false alarm, a felony punishable by up to six years in prison, and the females were each charged with one count of communicating a false alarm.

The juveniles all remained in custody Wednesday at the Garland County Juvenile Detention Center, with both males held on zero bond and the three females each being held on $2,500 bond.

The Sentinel-Record follows The Associated Press privacy policies and does not publish the names of juvenile offenders unless they are charged as adults.
