Not to say that Abbott, DeSantis and Noem's behavior hasn't been crazy and not in most people's best interest but doubt that there is enough Dem support there to mount a successful recall in those states. At the point you get everyone all hot and bothered, you better make it a win or you look foolish in a special election.

Because of Covid they didn’t have many people gathering signatures, and prioritized the Southeast Valley for their drive up signature gathering. And the organizers got upset whenever people asked about more options.
I would have loved to sign, but not if I had to drive an hour to do it during my work day.

D's aren't nearly as purely partisan posturing prone (PPPP)
such as just name-calling an R "fascist" then basing an entire recall on an echo-chamber media frenzy stirring without substantiation.
The petition form I read by the partisan hacks contained no substantiated complaints. Just labeling Newsom as a "socialist", "failure" to i instantaneously solve public health problems the R's exacerbated, then point blame that the D didn't solve it all overnight. Whining about the lockdowns, despite it's largely agreed necessity and compliance.
Dem's aren't prone to just play mudslinging games with expensive processes... yet the R is supposed to be the "fiscally responsible" party? Things that make ya' go, HMMM.
