KTLAIts a recognition of all of the thought and care that San Francisco residents have been putting into staying as safe as possible, said Dr. Susan Philip, San Franciscos health officer.
San Francisco businesses were relieved that the city can continue permitting fully vaccinated people to go maskless in some indoor locations.
To have any disruption at all in the progress weve made over the last year and a half in getting customers back would have been devastating, Dave Karraker, co-owner of MX3 Fitness and spokesman for the San Francisco Independent Fitness Studio Coalition, told the San Francisco Chronicle.
I can already hear the screams of "unfair" from other municipalities.
Don't think mayors care about the reason for exemption.

(17,027 posts)They have a lot of rules out there about various things, but they often exempt wealthy people from complying with them. Like the water regulations, for instance. They tell everyone out there to conserve water, to take short showers and don't flush the toilet every time and don't water their lawns. But when you go up to Beverly Hills and other wealthy enclaves, you see all these green lawns that are perfectly landscaped. San Francisco is a wealthy city, so I think that's a major reason why they're being exempted from the indoor mask rules. There are different rules for the wealthy, I know, but this is just sickening.

(10,657 posts)At any given time during business hours I'd bet a lot more of the people in San Francisco are from the surrounding counties: how come we're not exempted? Santa Clara County's vaccination rates are per the WaPo among the highest in the country (the article claimed 90% had at least one dose): if the state is going to carve out an exemption for one county why not more?
Yeah, I scream "unfair" as well.
