- it's jumped the highway at Rocky Creek Bridge and is headed SW toward Bixby Bridge and Coast road. If you're down there - get the hell out! HWy 1 South is closed at Rio Road.

***The Monterey County Sheriff's office issued an evacuation order for all areas West of 3800 Palo Colorado Road to Hwy 1 and South to Bixby Creek. This order is MANDATORY

1. Fuck!! That was one of the most beautiful side roads I know of off Hwy 1

When I was in the Army we spent many weekends hiking and backpacking in the forests at the end of that road. So many beautiful, quaint little houses and cottages along that enchanted forest road.
Terrible loss.
