Man who tried to breach cockpit and jumped from moving plane at LAX sentenced to prison
A man who officials said tried to break into a cockpit, assaulted a flight attendant and then jumped out of the exit door of a moving airplane at Los Angeles International Airport was sentenced Wednesday to 18 months in prison.
Luis Armando Victoria Dominguez, a 34-year-old resident of La Paz, Mexico, was also ordered to pay $20,132 in restitution after previously pleading guilty to one count of interfering with a flight crew member and a flight attendant, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office.
On June 25, 2021, Dominguez was a passenger on a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City.
Shortly after the plane left the gate, Dominguez sprinted to the front of the aircraft and began banging on the cockpit door and manipulating the locked doorknob, a FBI affidavit says.
