San Bernadino street takeover. Then crowd blocks cop cars to give donut-doing-truck time to escape (Original Post) Demovictory9 Apr 2022 OP

road rage, vandalism, mail and package theft, assaults (on flight attendants for enforcing rules, for example), home invasions, etc.

On a larger, scarier note: January 6th, the Whitmer plot, mass shootings, voter suppression ...

Took me a bit to figure out exactly where it was... 5th and Mt. Vernon.. I used to routinely ride my bike through that area in the 90s. I wouldn't now. No way. The way people around here drive and act (and this is just one small example), I sure as hell don't feel safe on a bicycle.. Hell, I don't even feel safe on the sidewalks.

Stuff like this goes on all over the region. The only thing surprising about this example is the cops actually tried to do something. What? Too much of a disruption to traffic? Too many business owners annoyed? Because if this had been a residential area, I guarantee you the matter would've been blown off. "What do you expect us to do?" How about your jobs - you know, stopping shit like this, instead of pulling people over for Walking While Trans.

I no longer live in San Bernardino (thank goodness). But the rest of the so-called "Inland Empire" isn't any better. Why would it be? Stuff like this has been allowed to become the new normal (after allowing speeding and ignoring stop signs in residential areas to become the new normal). And, of course, our "friends" the cops would rather harass people for Walking While Black or Walking While Trans than do something about jackasses like this.

One of these days, one of these reckless drivers or stunt-pulling morons like Mr. Red Penismobile Truck here are going to kill someone. When they do? Well, don't say some of us didn't try to warn them... "They'll grow out of it!" Sure. And I'm Taylor Swift.

It's moments like this that briefly - briefly - make me think "Maybe gas needs to be even more expensive. Might be less stupidity and treating cars like toys if gas was $25 a gallon..." The only thing stopping me is how much it would hurt a lot of others, fuck with prices thanks to increased delivery costs, etc...
