California socialite sentenced to 15 years to life for 2020 hit-and-run deaths of two young brothers

A Southern California socialite was sentenced Monday to 15 years to life in prison for the hit-and-run deaths of two young brothers in a crosswalk more than three years ago.

Authorities said Rebecca Grossman, wife of a prominent Los Angeles burn doctor, fatally struck Mark Iskander, 11, and brother Jacob, 8, while speeding.

A Los Angeles jury in February found Rebecca Grossman guilty on all counts: Two felony counts each of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter, and one felony count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death.

Superior Court Judge Joseph Brandolino sentenced her to two concurrent 15-years-to-life sentences, plus three years for fleeing the scene of the fatal crash that would run concurrently with the two other sentences, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Two kids are dead and she has never shown any remorse or accountability. Should have been a longer sentence. ZonkerHarris Jun 2024 #6

She toned downed her “look” for the trial, I suspect.

Nothing will bring those precious boys back. Her sentence seems fair to me.

I cannot imagine the grief that the parents are experiencing right now. How do they survive it?

She was sentenced to the maximum allowed by California law. PC 187 second-degree murder carries a penalty of 15 years-to-life in state prison.[

Although she had better change her tune in prison or she will be in past 75. Not sure if you can add years for the life part of the sentence.

It is my understanding that the only reason she stopped while trying to get away was that her fancy SUV turned off the gas after detecting a crash.

Love the lawyer saying accident when she was on valium, alcohol and racing at the time she murdered the kids.

Added.
Looked it up.
15 years to life means serve 15 years before being eligible for parole. No guarantee of parole. If she wants out before she turns 80 she had better change her attitude.
