Spending measure, two council seats & city treasurer on Carlsbad ballot this November

Carlsbad will vote on City Council members in two districts, a new city treasurer, and a proposal to revise city spending limits this November.

District 4 incumbent Councilmember Teresa Acosta is a candidate for what would be her second four-year term. Her only opponent is Greg Day, a commercial airline pilot and former Marine fighter pilot.

Safety, sustainability and affordability are the top issues facing Carlsbad, Acosta said in response to The San Diego Union-Tribune’s questions.

“I am working to strengthen our public safety programs and promote our Safer Streets initiative with our community partners,” she said.
