Related: About this forumMurderer on the loose in northern Colorado.
A murderer shot a cyclist twice on a road near Windsor, Colorado. They don't know if it was related to a recent shooting near Windsor on I-25. The cyclist was a employee of Windsor and news outlets report that he was well liked.
Sadly, the police were slow to react and did not set up any roadblocks to try and catch the murderer. This is in contrast to their quick reactions in bringing bs lawsuits against the state of Colorado over marijuana laws and their vigorous whining over ammunition laws to make mass murders more difficult. Now they have this murder on their doorstep and they're doing nothing.
Stay out of northern Colorado. It's not safe here.

(3 posts)This happened in my community. It is obvious you do not live here nor care to pass on correct information.
The police were not slow to react. They responded to a call that sounded like a possible hit and run. On scene they found that John had been shot. This was a county road. NOT heavily traveled. I have no clue where you believe roadblocks should have been set up.
The FBI was here within a very short time period and are very involved with the investigation. As is the entire community. See something, say something.
John did not have a drivers lic. and road his bike every day, every where. Some learning disabilities kept John from a more traditional life. But, he was known and loved in this community. He had worked at a couple of the grocery stores and knew everyone. The last few years he had worked for the Town in the Parks department. Helping to maintain several of the local parks. He loved the Broncos, supported the High School athletic teams. And was very involved in a couple of local fund raisers.
He was PROUD of his community and would be absolutely heart broken to think someone would use his death to spread this type of nonsense.
Tomorrow we will bury John. Services will not only be attended at his church but also broadcast at the High School (for over flow). Then food and memories at the High School.
I would invite anyone to come to Windsor tomorrow and see what a safe, caring community is really like.
BTW - the lawsuits and ammo issues had NOTHING to do with our local Police. That broad brush does nothing to help any situation.

(115,874 posts)feel free to ignore someone's un-sourced story and opinion here. It is always good to hear from people who are involved with things posted here. But again, my condolences. It is awful and scary when something like this happens.

(3 posts)Thanks for the positive support. Friday was tough. Immediately after John was killed the community was in shock, by Friday good memories and positive vibes replaced that. Although I will admit if they find the dirt bag that did this I suggest they remove them from the community immediately. We are all hoping it is someone with NO ties to our town. It would just be too much to deal with.
I could not attend the actual service but did get to watch most on an internet broadcast provided by one of the Denver stations. To see the Emerg. vehicles, Town parks trucks, etc, and about 30 bicycles going down main street was pretty powerful. Then of course John and family and at least 150 vehicles. Those of us at work stepped out on the sidewalk. And there were many on the sidewalks of old town.
Sometimes the random evil is so tough to understand.
Funny how I have lurked for years. Never signed up. But, go after "my" community and the mother bear comes out. We are stuck with Ken Buck in my beautiful zip code. That is enough evil for any community.
