Colorado votes (or not, if they're Democrats)

I imagine you've been following the shenanigans our great Republican Secretary of State Gessler has been pulling. Last Thursday he made a long speech before the Colorado Conservative Convention about how the "left" steals elections in Colorado and participates in organized voter fraud. This from the man who told us last year that there could be more than 11,000 non-citizens voting in Colorado. After spending many hours of the overworked county clerks' time, large amounts of tax dollars, and sending thousands of postcards telling registered voters they are ineligible he seems to have found 35 non-citizens who voted though he hasn't even proved that number. Today's Denver Post tells us that the Secretary of State's registration website had 85,000 visits Monday but had many crashes and errors causing delays and potential voters who gave up trying to register. I'm sure a great many of these would be Democratic voters and may make the difference in such a close race as Colorado will have. Scary, I know. It's too late to do much about registrations; probably all we can do now is make sure every Democrat we know votes and hope their votes will be counted!

2. Gessler is already on the outs

We're kicking him out in '14 - he's a 'bagger that is intending to disrupt the electoral process.

He has attempted to suppress, but has been rebuffed several times by the Supreme Court.

He gave up, but I'm not giving up. I am working on unseating Gessler out and put a Democratic SoS.

Bernie Bueschler had that job, and he can have it back if he chooses to run again.

Gessler is an idiot. He's #1 on my political MUST GO list for 2014.

And to add to what you already posted, it wasn't just a postcard that was sent to those suspected non-citizens. I'm one of the people who got a letter from him. It was an official letter on his letterhead, double sided with the letter on 1 side, and the form they wanted me to return on the other. There was also a Spanish version.

I am a US citizen and I've been very vocal about my disgust with his tactics. I was quoted in an ABC article, a Huff Post article, a long in-depth Westword article as well as this one:

And no, I did not return the form. And yes, I've been checking my voter registration status every single day since then to make sure he doesn't remove me from the rolls.
