Parts of New England brace for spring snow

BOSTON (AP) -- As the East Coast shivers through an unusually cold early spring, parts of New England are bracing for a storm that could bring additional snow.

More than half a foot of snow is expected to hit Southeastern Massachusetts on Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Parts of coastal Maine may also see snow.

National Weather Service spokesman Bill Simpson said Cape Cod and the Islands are expected to be hit the hardest, starting around the evening commute and lasting until Wednesday morning.

Looks like 1-3 inches here in the SE. At least it isn't the 6 inches they were thinking last week.

I'm totally ready for spring. Thankfully, the tulips and daffodils have started coming up.

I have a pair of fancy $130 snow boots that were lost in transit from DC to CT all winter that I will get to use. Otherwise, I'd feel like I wasted my money.

I didn't buy them at Amazon but these are the same boots: http://www.amazon.com/Bogs-Mens-Classic-Ultra-Black/dp/B001A5QXAA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1395703108&sr=8-5&keywords=Bogs

tell me that this has been a good winter for maple syrup. I intend to venture forth next weekend for a taste of their harvest.

and below freezing at night, to make the sap really flow. I have to say, since I moved to NY seven years ago from the Pacific Northwest (a land well renowned for culinary delights) I have been enchanted by the true taste of maple in the syrup produced in this region. I just can't go back to Mrs. Butterworth.
