Delaware revenue projections up $43 million already this fiscal year

Delaware’s increasingly rosy financial outlook got even better this week.

The Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council is now projecting state government will see a $43.3 million bump in revenue this fiscal year beyond what lawmakers planned for when they passed a $4.27 billion operating budget in June.

The panel of state officials and economists on Monday also upgraded its revenue projection for fiscal year 2020, by $34.4 million.

“These most recent estimates continue to show the underlying strength of our economy,” said state Budget Director Mike Jackson. “While the outlook is stable, our focus remains on creating a financial plan for the state that is sustainable, while addressing areas of high need.”
