DC. faces hottest weather so far this year Friday, and just wait until next week.

An extended period of extreme heat is possible and even the chance to hit 100 for the first time since 2016.

We should be back to 90 degrees Thursday. Then we could top 95 degrees Friday, the highest so far this year.
