This morning on the X2 Plain clothes officers working bus enforcement detail stopped the suspect for fare evading onto the bus AND

Metro Transit Police reported just before noon today:
MTPD arrests suspect armed with loaded shotgun aboard an X2 route bus.
Plain clothes officers working bus enforcement detail stopped the suspect for fare evading onto the bus. After the suspect refused to comply, officers arrested him, & located the weapon under his coat.
WMATA GM Randy Clarke writes:
Appreciate the great work by @wmata transit police team on keeping our customers & staff safe. An example of fare enforcement in action and why we will keep focused on point of entry policing so we ensure people can ride safely on our great transit system.

"Never commit a misdemeanor when you're committing a felony."
I've ridden the X2 a few times. It is a slice of DC. Several slices. It does not hit the big tourist spots.

Its a fancy ride now, much more exciting in the 80's with the Top of the Hill and Frenchie's Diner, Murrys Steaks and the Children's Museum.
