My entrance, at my Metro stop, back when I "went to work." The last time I was there, the down escalator to trains headed to Shady Grove was out. I was lugging a bunch of stuff too.

(47,040 posts)Escalators could be missing steps during maintenance or something. What's wrong with the stairs?

(61,311 posts)This is the exit at the southeast end of the station, near where the statue of Albert Pike used to be. If you were headed to MPD HQ, you'd use this exit.
All it had was two escalators. No elevators, and no stairs. WMATA has been changing that, but the work has been going on for a long time. When the picture was taken, passengers had to use the stopped escalator going both up and down.
You can see in the middle where the stairs are going to be.
