(25,302 posts)not wearing masks is getting worse. I love this elderly lady who I go to to check me out at the grocery store and she doesn't wear a mask. They used to disinfect the belt after every customer, used to social distance waiting in line, they do none of that. I do my best to get in and get out when shopping. I bought most of my Christmas presents on line.

I hate shopping malls so I did all of my Christmas shopping online back in November and sent it out early.
While early pandemic guidance was to disinfect everything. As newer variants became even more transmissible in aerosol form, the most important things people can do is wear masks indoors around other people, vaccinate, and get the booster shot.
I'm from rural Western PA originally but peaced out 20 years ago and never looked back.

(47,043 posts)that it's not worth enforcing it. Individuals can still mask, but even then some maskholes get hostile. I get snide comments when I go to pick up takeout orders. It just doesn't feel safe to be in restaurants or bars with people talking loudly and breathing COVID on each other.
I never stopped masking in the gym and office despite us all being vaccinated.

(2,393 posts)themselves. I went to church last Sunday and there's a big sign outside the door that says "masks required" and a box of masks for the taking. I looked across the congregation, a good number of them elderly, and everyone had a mask on, except one jerk who looked to be in his 30s or 40s, singing away. I admit I'm worn out too, by people who don't care. Even in my own family.
