The storm is over for most of us with widespread totals of 5-10" in the immediate area,

on the high side of forecasts. Reagan National even measured 6.7 inches - the most in a single storm since Jan. 2019 - about three years.

But power outages are a problem. About a half million customers in the dark in Va. and Md.

I cleared enough sidewalk so that if I have a medical emergency, the rescue squad can reach me.

Also, really important, I did this:

No sidewalk here, unpaved paths 1+ mile from road.

I think I got 8+ inches, but not going out to measure. I'm in southern MD.

We've been without power since 10 this morning and with the sun out, we opened the blinds in our living room to at least get some radiant heating until the sun sets. Went out about 3, got the truck cleared off so it can be driven once the plows come thru. We sat in the cab for about 20 minutes to get warmed up.

Mrs. Best has seen some social media posts from people asking where are the plows. Wondering if they're having workforce issues because of Covid.

so I suspect that accounts for what feel like delays.

Radiant sun here right now too!
